My latest hiking adventure was on Leelanau Conservancy land right out the front door of the home where I currently reside. Those who know me, realize that heading out on a hike is my favorite thing to do. It’s not only physical exercise, but a way for me to have quiet, spiritual time, enjoying the amazing beauty that surrounds the area of the country that I am fortunate to call home. Camera slung across my body, I head out to see what I might find…!
This particular day turned out to be warm & sunny, with the evening’s deep shadows causing a high contrast dramatic scene. Some photos turned nature into an abstract image. I shot down on the ground, opening up the world at my feet.
I was pretty fired up when I arrived back to my room, prior to downloading the images…I just knew there were some special shoots, and was thrilled with what I saw on the screen in front of me…you judge for yourself.
As always, these images become part of the process for Dancing Frog Press, whether the images are turned into an illustration for a note pad, used as a photograph on a greeting card, used to practice other projects and shared with you for your viewing pleasure.
