For many in the country, spring’s arrival is well established. The evidence is in the beds of blooming flowers and viewed from atop a riding lawnmower. Here in northern Michigan, we are just beginning to see clear signs…small buds on a tree, robins chirping and open water when taking a moment to be near Lake Michigan. The wildlife trails are nearly invisible now that most of the snow is gone, but their movement indicates new activity as they freely move about with the warmer temperatures and sun as their guide. The last overnight snowfall implies that a bobcat (consensus thus far…) came by to check out my dwelling. The prints in the snow came up my sidewalk to the front porch, went around to the back yard, and into the forest.
