During week 4 and 5 of teaching Art Class, I saw a monumental shift in the students abilities, attention and art work. As a volunteer at the Leelanau Montessori, I embraced the opportunity to teach this six-week art class. As I mentioned in an earlier post, Art Teacher 101, I stumbled on the opportunity to become an art teacher for the very first time.
In just a few short weeks, these young students (4th – 6th grade) harnessed their talent and made some amazing little drawings! They had good questions, asked for help and saw how minute changes could dramatically shift the way their piece looks!
Week six of class was cancelled due to a snow day and will be made up next week. I will share about the conclusion of class in another post.
